Cambridge ... 1

Cambridge is a University town in England. On a warm and pleasant weekend I would not have thought of spending it anywhere else other than Cambridge. The walk along the river from Cambridge to Grantchester makes it even better, both health wise and to enjoy the pleasant weather.

The old college buildings and river are the highlight of this town.

The really narrow lanes behind these collegere surrounded by huge red bricked wall gives a very different look in contrast to the remaining part of the town.

Macro shots need so much patience... especially when taking outdoors. And on a windy day when the flowers just keep moving its so tough :)

The pictures of these flowers were taken in the famous botonical garden in Cambridge.

This post is to show some of the pictures of the important historical landmarks of London..Well now you know why all the pictures have a vintage look...

This picture of Bankside is a rare photo taken by King George IV in 1908 which is worth a million pounds in the National museum of England.... naah I 'am just kidding this picture was taken by me and given a bit of special effects for a vintage look.. ;-)

If you just have 1 day to spend in London and you want to see around London, it is quite easy. All you need to do is take the cruise on the Thames river. Most of the Tourist attractions are on the bank of river thames, like the London eye, Tower Bridge, Tower Hill, London Bridge, Millenium bridge, Westminister, Big Ben etc... Below is a picture of the Big Ben and Westminister. Interesting thing to note here is most of the attractions in London are Bridges..

This is the most confused monument in London...Well what i really mean is the monument which confuses most new comers in London. Most of the tourists mistake this as the London bridge. But this is actually Tower bridge. The London bridge is the bridge next to this bridge.

Most tourists get disappointed when they actually see the London bridge, because in simple terms it just looks like a plain flyover and has no architectural excellence visible.

That is the reason i decided to capture just one supporting pillar which had the name on it. The reason this bridge is famous for is it's history. Very long ago this was the only bridge connecting the North and South of the river and this was very useful for the businesses beign carried out on either side of the river. Also this bridge collapsed once. remember the song "London bridge is falling down..." , well that's the history behind the song. The London bridge which stands now on river Thames is a fairly new bridge built on the same location where the previous one fell down.

Well that was a quick tour of London for you, with a bit of history that i learnt...

This blog shows some of the photos captured during the London photoshoot... (May 2nd - May 4th). These are some of the pictures i personally liked.

There are lots of things to capture in London like the architecture, the culture and historical places etc... But what particularly grabbed my attention during the photoshoot were the tourists themselves.

It was interesting to notice that the tourists behave so differently when it is not their own place. They even behave like kids. And they will do anything to take a picture.

London Sunset...

I was walking on the Tower Bridge while I captured this picture. It was a very pleasant day and the sky turned orange when it was time for the sun to set..

London At Night...

London is full of life, it is as active in the night just like in the day. It looks even more colourful in the night with all the lights.

But on the contrary it would be so quite in the residential areas.
